The Deck Chef
Deck Chef is a chef's knife lifted from a fine-dining kitchen and dropped onto the deck of a pirate galley. A thirty-centimetre frame with an eighteen-and-a-half-centimetre blade crafted from 14C28N stainless steel (60-61 HRC) — chosen specifically for environments where salt air, constant humidity, and contact with brine, blood, or citrus would corrode lesser steel within days.
The textured upper face contrasts against a smooth, flat grind edge, a visual storm-front of finishes that earns its place on the cutting board the moment you pick it up.
The handle is built from twin slabs of black G10 paired with glow-in-the-dark micarta liners, in a dark kitchen, on deck, in the forest after sundown, the grip emits a soft green glow so you always know where you put the knife down. G10 is impervious to water, fat, blood, and temperature — work it through fish, through meat, under rain, under sun. The phosphor-bearing micarta charges from daylight or artificial light and releases that light for hours after the lamp is off.
Each Deck Chef is hand-crafted at the Shipwreck Knives workshop — one of one, never repeated. A tool for the home cook who refuses to settle for an off-the-shelf knife. For the kind of cook who understands that good food begins, always, with the right blade.
